Favorite thing about having diabetes: I like a challenge, and diabetes is challenging.

"I look forward to the opportunity of teaming up with eleven other diabetic runners in the MyoMed Ragnar Relay Del Sol, racing over 180 miles, from Wickenburg to Mesa, Arizona to raise awareness and knowledge of diabetes, and to show that it doesn't have to control our lives.

I've run in seven similar twelve-runner, multi-day relays on non-diabetic teams. There is nothing like them. It's amazing how the camaraderie quickly builds in a team focused for hours on a goal like this race.
In addition to multi-day relays, my other experiences in endurance include, as of July 2008, 44 marathons including qualifying for and running Boston, 3 50Ks, and 6 Grand Canyon crossings.
