Culinary Corner
"Cooking is my passion. Ever since I was a little girl, I've dreamed of being a famous chef like those on the Food Network and having my own restaurant and cookbook. Being diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 15 hasn't stopped me from pursuing my dream. As a matter of fact, it's helped become even more creative as I look for new and exciting ways to express myself as a culinary artist. In 2006, I received my degree in Culinary Arts from Grossmont College. Since then I've been looking for ways to share my passion with others.
During my summer internship with Insulindependence in 2008, I was asked if I'd be interested in being a featured chef on the Insulindependence website. I was thrilled at the opportunity, since I have so many great ideas for recipes that would be appropriate for the diabetic athlete/adventurer. So stay tuned for low carb, travel and fitness food recipes!"
