Led by the sixty-ninth rush class, The Epsilon Pi Alpha Fraternity (the Eppies) proved once again that fraternities don’t always fit into traditional stereotypes.  Connor Ziegler, one of the project leaders, reflected on one of the many reasons that the Eppies were voted as the Gustavus Adolphus College Fraternity of the Year:

“We take pride in our organization and staying connected with alumni.  Our involvement with Eppie alumnus, Peter Nerothin, and Insulindependence exemplifies this attitude.
Furthermore, investing time and effort in support of the endearing cause of Insulindependence illustrates our organization's commitment to service. We could not be happier with the success of this project and sincerely hope that our contribution will help deliver the message that Insulindependence actively promotes."

During their Awareness Week, the Eppies reached out to inform their student body about diabetes and related issues through various campus events, including two community seminars and free blood-glucose checks.

To wrap up an astounding fundraising campaign, members of the fraternity joined Eppie Alumnus Peter Nerothin and Scottie Morris in the Minnesota Ironman Bike Ride, a 100-mile event demonstrating the tenacious spirit of all parties involved.
